In 1843 Hokusai published a woodblock-printed picture book entitle Manji-Ō Sōhitsu Gafu (i.e., Old Man's Cursive Album). In 1877 it was republished with the title Hokusai Gaen (i.e., Garden of Sketches by Hokusai). The thirteen pictures of flowers and (or) birds included in the 1877 book are shown in this gallery.
